Websites

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2255989.ece: This article “This is Atlantis?” was written by Audrey Wheeler and Virginia Phillips in February 20, 2009 for the British paper The Sun.  An interesting website about a possibility of Atlantis being found by Google Earth.  It is not a scholarly journal, but from a tabloid.  It is quite interesting none the less.

http://www.skepdic.com/atlantis.html: This is an internet dictionary for all things weird and unexplained.  This was webpage entitle “Atlantis,” was last updated in August 6, 2009 and I have no idea who wrote it.  It is not scholarly, but it gives you a quick look at Atlantis and Plato’s theory.

http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/509892/Alfred-Rosenberg: This is a quick view at Alfred Rosenberg from the Encyclopedia Britannica.  It was last updated in 2009 and I do not know who the author is.  This is a scholarly website and it is interesting to see what type of people used this idea of Atlantis as a political tool.

http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/266132/Heinrich-Himmler: This is a quick view at Heinrich Himmler from the Encyclopedia Britannica.  It was last updated in 2009 and I do not know who the author is.  This is a scholarly website and it gives you some quick facts about who Himmler was.

http://atlantisinireland.com/: Although this has nothing to do with my website I found it fascinating that some people believe that Atlantis is in Ireland.  This was written by a professor, Ulf Erlingsson, from Barry University who received his Ph.D. at Uppsala University for Physical Geography.  Also, he received the Linnaeus Prize given to explorers from the Royal Society of Sciences in Sweden.  The website was last updated in 2007.  It even includes Plato’s dialogues of Critias and Timaeus.

http://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/ancient/atlantis.html?source=sem_G5000&s_kwcid=ContentNetwork%7C2682132917&kwid=ContentNetwork%7C2682132917&gclid=CPe7gJLCz50CFc9h2godMA4ErA: This is from National Geographic and it is all about Atlantis and the history of Atlantis.  It is an article written by Willie Drye and last updated in 2008.  Drye has written a book entitled “Storm of the Century: The Labor Day Hurricane of 1935,” which describes the unnamed destructive hurricane that hit Florida and describes the Keys at the time period.  Also, he has written other articles for National Geographic.  This is a scholarly website with information I would trust.

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b6d_1194281445: This is a video I found about the Nazis and their search for Atlantis.  This is a video from the SciFi Channel on TV which means it is scholarly, but one should be skeptical of the video since they need air play.  I have not been able to find who created the exact movie, however it was uploaded on November 5, 2007.

http://www.channel4.com/history/microsites/H/history/n-s/nazimyths.html: This is a website that discusses the Nazi search for Atlantis and the perfect race on Thule.  This is from a UK public broadcast television station, so you should also be skeptical of this website but it gives some good information.  This article, “The Nazi Expedition,” is written by Robin Cross.  Cross is a television documentary writer and historian whose focus is on World War II, in which he has written several books on this subject including, “Warfare: A Chronological History” (1991).  I am unsure of the date it was written, but it seems fairly recent dating after at least 2004.

http://www.crystalinks.com/atlantis.html: This is a website all about Atlantis and it is not a scholarly website.  It does give a wealth of information on Atlantis and how it has evolved.  I am unsure of the author and date of this website.

http://www.decadevolcano.net/santorini/atlantis.htm: This is a website that is about Atlantis in Santorini.  This is not a scholarly website but it has some good information on the original ideas on Atlantis.  This website “Santorini and the Legend of Atlantis,” was last updated February 3, 2004 and I am however unsure of the author.
